The 2018 Homecoming theme is
“Garden of the Greeks”
The 2018 DCHS Homecoming Week is almost upon us (Sept. 24 – Sept 29) and we are excited about the many activities available for students to get involved in. Please encourage your child to participate in Dress Up Spirit Days, attend Ruff & Tuff Volleyball, PowderPuff Football, the Homecoming Parade, Varsity Football Game on Thursday night, Sept 27th (with a halftime show sure to be remembered), and last but not least, the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night, Sept 29th from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm at Douglas County High School in the main gymnasium.
Spirit Days and events are as follows: (please note all DCSD dress code expectations apply)
- Monday, 9/24 – “Olympian Day” (Sports/Olympic attire)
- Event – PowderPuff in the DCHS stadium @ 7:00 pm
- Tuesday, 9/25 – “Nature Day” (Hiking and Outdoor attire)
- Event – Ruff n Tuff – in the North Main Gym @ 7:00 pm
- Wednesday, 9/26 – “Greek Life Day” (Fraternity and Sorority attire)
- Thursday, 9/27 – “Greek Class Color Day” – *Assembly Schedule
- Freshmen = Green for Demeter (Goddess of Harvest)
- Sophomores = Red for Aphrodite (Goddess of Love)
- Juniors = Blue for Poseidon (the God of Sea & Water)
- Seniors = Yellow for Zeus (King of the Gods)
- Friday, 9/28 – “Toga Day” (need to meet the DCHS dress code requirements and have proper clothing underneath all togas)
- Events:
- Homecoming Assembly in the North Main Gym @ 9:15am
- Homecoming Parade starting at the top of Scott Blvd/Woodlands Drive @ 4:30pm - make sure you are working with a group to be a part of this fun parade! Parents welcome to watch along the route!
- DCHS Homecoming Game in the DCHS stadium @ 7pm

Homecoming Dance tickets are being sold during AA time and lunches starting Monday, 9/24 THROUGH FRIDAY, 9/28 @ 3:00 pm. Please remind your child to be vigilant and purchase tickets at the tables outside the auditorium during those designated times. Tickets are $25 if purchased early and go up to $30 at the door. We will be honoring the 2018-19 DCHS Activity Ticket with a $5.00 discount on 1 ticket per ID (with Activity Ticket designation). It will only be accepted on pre-sale purchases and NOT discounted if bought at the door the night of the dance.
