CHSAA & DCHS Team Philosophy:

To provide a positive competitive speech experience for
DCHS High School Students by:

* Supporting a state-wide competitive speech & debate program focused on constructive communication.

* Supporting students while offering opportunities to develop & perfect communication skills.

* Supporting the education and development of coaches.

* Supporting the education and development of constructive speech critics.

* Creating a competitive environment governed by sportsmanship and fair play.

* Developing & following rules & regulations to create a common ground for the running of tournaments.

* Organizing regional and state competitions to expand student competition and growth.

* Providing information and resources to make speech programs diverse and effective.

* Honoring the respect for creative clash of communication while barring ad hoc communication.

* Preparing the communicators of tomorrow
