Summer School Information
Dear DCHS Community,
Douglas County High School will be offering Summer School for Summer 2026 for students who need
credit recovery.
DCHS Summer School is designed only for students who failed a class during the regular school year
and need to recover credit toward graduation. This program is not for grade replacement, and it is not for
students seeking to get ahead in credits.
Here are the key details:
Session 1 runs from June 2, 2026 through June 29, 2026.
The registration deadline is May 25, 2026.
All classes are 100% online through Edgenuity, which allows students to work at their own pace.
The cost is $300 per course, and students may take a maximum of two courses during the session.
Payment must be made through MySchoolBucks before a student will be registered for any summer
school course.
Students and families should also know that:
- DCHS Summer School is for credit recovery only
- Summer school grades do not replace the original grade on a student’s transcript; instead, the new grade is averaged with the original grade
- Students must meet with their DCHS counselor to complete the registration form
- Students who do not log in within three days of the course start date may receive a failing grade, no credit, and no refund
- Students who do not complete the course in the allotted time will receive a failing grade, no credit, and no refund
For student-athletes, summer school may be especially important. Students who fail two or more classes
during second semester may be ineligible for fall and early winter sports, but they may regain eligibility by
successfully completing the necessary summer school coursework.
If your student needs NCAA accredited classes, please register for the eDCSD summer school classes.
Please be sure to confirm the NCAA accreditation for the specific course you are interested in.
