What Does “LET” Mean?
LET stands for Leadership Education and Training, the structured four-level curriculum used by Army JROTC programs across the country. Each LET level represents a year of experience in the program and builds on the leadership, academic, and life skills learned previously.
- LET 1: Introduction to JROTC, basic leadership skills, teamwork, and personal growth
- LET 2: Expands leadership responsibilities, communication skills, and community involvement
- LET 3: Advanced leadership practice, decision-making, planning, and career exploration
- LET 4: Senior leadership roles, mentoring younger cadets, and applying skills in real-world settings
In short: LET levels help students grow year by year—developing confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills that carry into school, work, and life.
