Dear DCHS Class of 2024 Graduates, Families, and Friends,
This is our favorite time of the year as we celebrate the hard work, dedication and sacrifice of our seniors as they prepare to walk across the stage and get their high school diplomas. As you know, after several years of having our ceremony negatively impacted by inclement weather, we made the decision to move our graduation indoors to the Air Force Academy this year.
Unfortunately, we need to make some changes to our graduation ceremony location and time (the date remains the same).
We worked closely with our students and families, as well as representatives from the Air Force Academy, to ensure our community understood the security requirements at the Academy and that everyone who wished to attend the commencement ceremony would be able to do so. Unfortunately, there has been increased scrutiny by some in our community, as well as members of the media, regarding the location of our graduation ceremony.
There are concerns that this spotlight on our graduation could result in additional stress and traffic delays that we do not want for our seniors and their families on this special day. We want to ensure all family members, friends and loved ones are able to attend this milestone celebration and can arrive on time.
As a result, we are moving our graduation ceremony to Echo Park Stadium. The location and time have changed - the day remains the same.
Wednesday, May 22
3:00 p.m.
Echo Park Stadium
11901 Newlin Gulch Boulevard
Parker, CO 80134
The change in location allows us to ensure all who wish to attend can do so and celebrate with our Huskies. The ceremony will also be live streamed on the DCSD YouTube channel.
To the Class of 2024, do not let this take away from your big day! Change is part of life and you are resilient. This will be an incredible day where we celebrate you and all of your hard work. You will always be a Huskie!
